How to subscribe - credit card or PayPal:

You can access all the technical articles on this site by subscription. The first year cost is U.S. $39.95. Renewals are U.S. $24.95 per year.

  • Please note that your first subscription is good for one year. There is no automatic renewal charge if you use a credit card contrary to what it says on the PayPal screen. You have to renew by initiating the transaction. That way you are assured of not signing up for a repeating charge. Your credit card information is never made known to me, for your protection.

  • Subscribe using your Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express. This works for US and non-US currencies. You do NOT need to have a PayPal account for a credit card subscription. Click on the logo below this paragraph. Then, when the new page is displayed, click on the 'Click Here' button in the section captioned "If you do not currently have a PayPal account". Your credit card information will not be made available to me. On the new screen that appears choose your credit card in the 'Payment Type:' box. You will be asked for your credit card details before payment of $39.95 is made. PayPal will also ask you to set up a 'PayPal password' and requires that you provide your email and phone number as a security precaution. You will also be asked to type a code word, which PayPal provides, as a further security measure. THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE SETTING UP A PAYPAL ACCOUNT. You will probably receive an email from PayPal exhorting you to open an account after you have gone through this process. Unless you want to open an account, just delete the email:

  • If you prefer, you can email your U.S. $39.95 payment (or $24.95 if renewing an existing subscription) to Thomaspindelski@me.com using PayPal by clicking on the logo:

    However, establishing a PayPal account if you are not already a customer takes a couple of days.

  • I no longer accept subscriptions by personal check or other remittance methods using regular mail.

    On receipt of your payment, you will receive an email from PayPal confirming your payment and, later, a second email from me with a Username and Password which will give you unrestricted access to the Technical section for one year. It sometimes takes me a few hours to get you your access information, depending on whether I am at my computer or not. I do my best to respond in a timely manner so there is no need to send me a separate email asking for your password.

    The longest I have ever taken to respond is 24 hours. If I am going to be away from my email for longer than that a warning notice will be displayed on the home page.

    Your access is good for 1 year from the date on which I issue your password.

    You will be reminded two weeks before expiration of your subscription with renewal details.

    What's included?

    Over 5,000 annotated, detailed, technical illustrations and over 75 articles addressing maintenance and repair procedures applicable to the 1981-1991 Mercedes-Benz cars and engines shown below. The information included here is based on actual repair work undertaken by the author, and reflects some 15 years of experience working on these cars. You may peruse the Site Index. to see what is included but will not be able to access the contents until you have a Username and Password.

    What is covered?

    • The W107 cars - 380SL/SLC and 560SL
    • Late W123 and all W126 chassis cars - 300SD, 380SE/SEL, 420SEL, 500SEL, 560SEL, all SEC models
    • The 617.95 5 cylinder diesel and 3.8 litre (M116) and 5.6 litre (M117) V8 gasoline engines
    • The transmission and many shared systems like brake and air conditioning systems common to all these cars

    • Most procedures apply to all the Mercedes cars made during 1981-1991.

    Most of these tasks require an intermediate skill set. Each includes a Difficulty Rating which appears in the Site Index. . The Site Index also shows the chassis to which each procedure applies.
